Time is flying by...

You thought I forgot about you, didn't you?

Well I promise I haven't!

I have been so busy with tons of different things that my tank was running on empty.

It's not a fun way to live...

Fortunately and unfortunately summer is nearing to an end. We have had a fun-filled time away from the busyness that fall brings but we have still had our share of busy days! So many new things have started and some have also ended.

When school let out Avery started back at physical and speech therapy and has made some awesome improvements. Although it's hard for most people to understand what she is saying, I have learned how she says words and can pretty much hold a conversation with her at any given time. She turned four in June and we have started trying to potty train her but with little means for her to communicate with us she isn't quite grasping the concept of telling us when she needs to go to the potty. It's a work in progress.

The boys played their little hearts out in baseball and had so much fun. This year was Ryley's second year playing pitching machine and he made one of the All-Star teams after the regular season was over. He did an awesome job at 2nd base and even made a few double plays! Hudson moved up to pitching machine and played catcher. It was so much fun watching how excited he would get when he would tag someone out at home plate. Really I think they thought they were major league players...who am I to tell them different?! Jase moved up to coach pitch league and his team was undefeated all season...he was so excited to get that trophy saying Coach Pitch Champions!

McKenzie played softball for the first time this year and although she wasn't completely thrilled about trying a new sport she did "try" and that's all we wanted. Half way through the season though her team fell apart and the girls that were left weren't placed on new teams. I think she was relieved. She has grown up a lot this summer and has come to know a little bit of responsibility...praying it continues into the school year!

Jaxon has been saying lots of new words and exploring everything around him. His newest hobby is climbing.on.everything...literally...He climbed on top of Avery's kitchen set the other day and I'm still not sure how he didn't flip it over...He likes to chase you or you chase him...he thinks it is hilarious to run around and does it at every opportunity! We are still having issues with his eczema and the food allergies but we pretty much have it controlled. He will go back to the allergist in a few months and hopefully we can get some new answer then.

As for Drew and me, we have been great! Taking time away from the blog and refocusing my mind has done wonders in our marriage. He started a new job back in May and for the last two weeks he has been working five hours away. He does get to come home every weekend though and we definitely love that! New doors are opening for us and we are thankful for all that the Lord is blessing us with. We definitely couldn't have/do anything without Him!!

I may have mentioned in my last post about starting my own business venture but I can't remember so I'll share again! In June I signed up as an independent consultant with BeautiControl and I'm totally loving it so far! I've had so much fun spa-ing myself and my family/friends. BeautiControl offers some awesome products and I'm glad to be a part of such a great company!

So that, in a nutshell, has been out summer. We still have a tad less than month left before school starts back and we plan to enjoy every single day left most likely at the pool!

I'll slowly be coming back to the blog starting TOMORROW with Menu Plan Monday and doing a few posts a week until August 1 when I'll be doing a series on Back-to-School time! I can't wait!!

Thanks for being patient while I've taken a break. I know my mind and heart are renewed and ready for where the Lord wants to take me (and the blog). Thanks for sticking around and waiting to see what mess I think up next!

See ya later!!

  1. I was wondering what happened to you!! Your family is always more important at this point. Enjoy your summer with your children and husband.

    1. Yes, family is way important to me and they are growing so fast...it just breaks my heart...at the beginning of last school year the 3 older boys would still hug me before getting out of the truck at school and now they hardly want to...it makes me sad...but we are still having lots of fun and definitely don't want the summer to end!
